Monique Todd & Nadine Peters
Departures is an audio project that explores how the city changes after a relationship ends. The collaborators spoke to a range of subjects about their personal recollections of how a relationship departure impacts their experience of the city. Monique & Nadine walked with anonymous individuals to locations that have acquired new meaning, and to old areas that they have had to re-establish from their significant other. Departures intends to map an alternative geography based on people’s emotional encounters and partnerships. They are interested in the development of intimate human interaction, in parallel to surroundings.
Monique Todd works on Pleasure Principles, a multi-medium platform tracking formations of desire and connection through archives, activism, community and culture. Nadine Peters works on Thursley, a monthly radio show exploring the context and influences that have informed the work of women and gender-non conforming sound artists. Departures is their first collaborative audio project.
